Many recent releases of Indian films in Hindi language are released online as 720p quality. Although, some may be released with lower quality such as 360p (standard definition). The best course is to search for the Hindi title and then use the YouTube link to find out if it is available in 720p. Another option for watching Indian movies is with a streaming service like Hotstar, Eros Now or Netflix. Newer releases of movies will often be available for free (or at least cheaper) and they may offer higher resolutions than YouTube. Price points vary but can be worth checking out. The first official DVD release of "Billu" was on 13 September 2018. A new Blu-ray edition was also released on the same day. It included English subtitles, an audio commentary by Kamal Haasan, and some footage from the film, including a song sequence. The new edition was subtitled in English for first time ever. "Billu" opened to mixed critical response. "The Hindu" reported that the film had received "underwhelming response", while "Firstpost" described it as a "utter failure". On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 18% based on 2 reviews with an average rating of 4/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "A predictable film that doesn't know how to properly structure its plot, "Billu" emerges as a more problematic for Kamal Haasan than his star-studded roles in some of his blockbuster movies." On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 34 out of 100 based on 3 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews". "The Village Voice"s J.C. Maçek III gave the film a negative review, stating, "It's irritating that one of America's biggest stars took the trouble to make his debut in India only to end up with this potboiler." Mumbai-based FilmiMix criticised the movie for its "cinematic formulaic clichés" and "lack of originality".
